This book is more of an artist's retrospective and not so much a guide to collecting skateboards; however, there is much information that will be a help to collectors. Historic decks were difficult to obtain for inclusion in this book,and some of them are represented in magazine ads. Some of the older decks that became available for photographs were in less than perfect condition, and some were downriqht rough. So there was a small amount of photo retouching to clean things up. In some cases, on rare decks, there was a complete make-over. Every effort was made to preserve the graphics and deck as original as possible with the exclusion of dirt, grime, stains,extra holes and so on. We hope that these efforts will make a more enjoyable book.
