The 4th China-Japan-US symposium on structural control and monitoring SSCM'2006), took place in Hangzhou, China, Oct. 16- 17, 2006, focused on academic research exchange on structural control and monitoring, enhancing interaction cooperation, and on accessing research frontiers in applying these new technologies to improve the safety and durability of civil engineering structures. The symposium is sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Science Foundation (NSF, USA), International Association for Structural Control and Monitoring (IASCM), IASCM China Panel, Japan Panel and US Panel, it is co-organized by Zhejiang University,Harbin Institute of Technology and Changsha University of Science & Technology, China.
