Daryl Jackson is a multi-award-winning, Australianborn intermational architect. He is a Professor of Architecture at the University of Melbourne and Deakin University, and has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of BaUarat. He is a Royal Australian Institute of Architects' Gold Medalist, and recipient of an Order of Australia for his services to the profession and the community.

The 23 projects presented in this book represent a pattern of thinking and design authorship. Selected projects include competition entries, high-value retail interiors, master plans, major sporting facilities, spectacular adaptive reuse projects, resorts, school and university buildings and distinctive city buildings.

As the national Design Principal of his firm, Jackson Architecture, Jackson sees his roles as not unlike those of a film director: working on the plot, lining up the cameras, piloting, producing and editing to generate the desired result. Each project is unified through Jackson's direct design involvement. The constant attention to design and compositional structuring are common and discernible threads through all projects. The principals of the practice in each city share a common ethos and ensure a healthy collaboration, respect, and philosophical connectedness within their respective teams.
