Mateja Vehovar and Stefan Jauslin are part of the generation of young Swiss architects. Besides actual architect's assignments their activities involve related areas such as landscape architecture, exhibition design, public space design and artistic installations. The cooperation in interdisciplinary teamsbeyond the traditional building industry as well as the experimental work are of great importance. Vehovar and Jauslin understand their activity simultaneously as work on a project, and work on the discipline of architecture. Parallel to their occupation as architects they have been teaching architecture and design as well as video, and pursued research in the areas of architecture and urbanism. In 1999 they were awarded the Swiss Prize for Fine Arts for their joint work. This book shows for the first time a selection of the studio's oeuvre, It contains both, built and unbuilt projects. The emphasis is put on the development process of the designs. Sketches, models, montages, and inter mediate steps show the projects' evolution. Complementing the rich visual analusis are texts by Jacqueline Burckhardt, Adriaan Geuze, Jakob Hotz-Hung, and Cary Siress, investigating the studio's work, discussing its design process and placing it within todag's architectural debates.
