Colour has all the while taken up a main role in interior architecture. Colour remains as one of the principal sources of inspiration among renowned decorators and interior designers. The Language of Colours offers its perception on how colour forms an essential element of an interior space: a universal language that has, to a great extent, determined the ambience and characteristics of a dwelling.
All the projects featured in this book are the works of professional interior designers from Western Europe. The choice of colours is motivated from relevant local context and tradition. The subtle palette of colours gives tonality to many projects: the preference for a dark-coloured style and the search for monastic essentials have also resorted to the manipulation of colours. The other interiors demonstrate a more lavish and extravagant vision of colours: adopting colourful palettes influenced from the 'four corners of the world'.
When it comes to minimalist white tints or an extravagant baroque style, the coherent use of high quality craftsmanship paintings is employed to create a whole ensemble. The execution takes care of all the different needs: reputable men from different traditions and trades unveil their 'know-how' craftsmanship that has been passed on from generations of achievements with quality results.
