The artistic outlook of the postwar; splitted into the foreign and the inland exile has defined.fined, until recently, an. artistic landscape, dark and complex, hidden in the privilege given to the academicism as well as the official uses of the aesthetics. Today, that view has been left in questio,as it is remarked by the artists who constitute the present volume: on one hand, we are witnesses of a renewal of the expressionist suppositions of the Granite aesthetics of the generation previous to os Novos……
Maria Antonia Dans, on the other hand, we also witness to the maturing of a surrealist poetics, through the individual work of artists who, in some cases, have ah"eady acquired a deserved international recognition, such as Eugenio Fernandez Granell -participant of the most important surrealist collective exhihitions of the postwar;organized by Breton- and Urbano Lugris. The reality, defi, itively, of an artistic Galicia, which refiects faithfully the Spanish duality of the end of the civil war, between a contained domestic situation and the one of the cultural exile, since many of the referred artists have lived that double situation half in their own land and half in different American countries.
