This is the first work to present developments within home and furniture design in Switzerland from the end of the nineteenth century to the present in their full complexity. Introductory essays are followed by seven main chapters, each covering a 15-year period and supplemented by dossiers on exemplars from each epoch. The book is rounded off by a presentation of 21 model apartments, a catalogue of objects containing approximately 300 illustrated entries, and 150 biographies: a total of 456 pages with more than 1000 colour and black-and-white illustrations. The result is a well-researched reference book that will satisfy the highest aesthetic demands and appeal to connoisseurs of furniture, interior designers, collectors of high-qualities objects, and lovers of stylistic interiors.
