在系统功能语言学中，投射表达一定的逻辑语义关系。这种逻辑语义关系在新闻语篇中尤为突出，对新闻的成功传播有着直接而深远的影响。本专著基于系统功能语言学，并结合新闻语篇的相关研究，对新闻语篇中的投射模式进行系统的研究，并在此基础上探讨了新闻语篇中投射的功能。
具体而言，新闻语篇中投射模式的研究共包含四部分：新闻语篇中的投射源研究、新闻语篇中的投射过程研究、新闻语篇中的被投射成分研究和投射的递归性研究。在构建新闻语篇中投射模式的基础上，本专著还探讨了新闻语篇中投射的功能。新闻语篇中投射功能的研究包括新闻语篇中投射源功能、投射过程功能、被投射成分功能和投射递归性功能的研究。基于对新闻语篇中投射源、投射过程、被投射成分和投射递归性及其各自功能的研究，该类语篇中的投射模式得以构建，投射功能得以明确。

贾培培，河北邯郸人，文学博士，中国矿业大学（北京）文法学院外语系副教授，硕士研究生导师，中国矿业大学（北京）越崎青年学者。主持教育部人文社会科学研究青年基金项目1项，中央高校基本科研业务费项目3项，横向科研项目2项；参与教育部人文社会科学研究项目和北京市社会科学基金项目各1项，主持教改项目10项。发表学术论文及书评13篇，其中SSCI和CSSCI检索7篇；参与撰写专著两部。曾获北京市高等教育教学成果奖二等奖、中国矿业大学（北京）优秀教学质量奖、“优秀本科生全程导师”荣誉称号等，指导学生在“外研社·国才杯”全国英语阅读大赛、北京市大学生英语演讲比赛、全国大学生英语竞赛等比赛中获得优异成绩。
