本书作为江苏省现代服务业重大研究课题成果之一出版，已连续出版多年，作为江苏省现代服务业的行业年报形式，对2023年江苏省现代服务业的发展做总结。本书分为综合篇，行业篇，地区篇，集聚区篇，政策篇，数据篇等，共计20余章，较为全面系统地介绍了江苏省现代服务业的发展状况，对过去一年的发展情况进行分析总结，对将来的发展进行展望。全书在采集官方统计数据基础上进行经济学分析，在内容上具有创新性，提出的研究建议可以作为行业主管部门和行业从业人员作为研究参考之用，这也使得全书具有一定的学术价值。
