本书从非洲国家传染病防治体系的历史和现状切入，总结出非洲国家传染病防治体系的基本特征，并介绍最为困扰非洲的传染病及相关防疫经验；按东部非洲、西部非洲、中部非洲、南部非洲、北部非洲五大区域选取苏丹、坦桑尼亚、刚果（金）、几内亚、安哥拉等五个非洲国家作为具体案例，就其传染病防治体系进行分析，详细介绍这些国家传染病防治体系和现存问题。书中一方面梳理和回顾中国对非洲卫生援助历史，另一方面根据当前可展开的合作及前景进行系统分析。

Nkolo Foé is full professor at University of Yaoundé in Cameroonand a member of the International Institute of Philosophy (Paris). He isalso the former vice-president of Council for the Development of SocialScience Research in Africa (CODESRIA), member of InternationalAdvisory Committee of the China-Africa Institute, president of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for Global South and China Studies, foundingmember of the Global Think Tank Network for Democracy Studies(CASS). Professor Nkolo Foé owns a high reputation in the academiccommunity of philosophy and social science in Africa, particularly inacademic cireles of Francophone Africa. He has published severalacademic papers in authoritative journals such as Journal of China-AfricaStudies, Science et technique, Afrika Zamani, Journal of Pschology inAfrica and so on.
