本教材按照国际行业标准《ATA100规范》章节结构划分，共设计五个项目，采用活页编写格式。项目一为飞机整体案例学习，对接5-12章；项目二为飞机系统案例学习，对接20-49章；项目三为飞机结构案例学习，对接51-57章；项目四为螺旋桨/旋翼案例学习，对接60-67章；项目五为飞机动力装置案例学习，对接70-80章。项目一、二、三、五针对固定翼飞机，基于B737-600/700/800/900机型；项目四针对旋翼飞机，基于罗宾逊R66机型。所有项目尽可能采用机械及电子维护实操任务。附录Ⅰ和附录Ⅱ分别增加了8套固定翼飞机“实操程序”及10套旋翼飞机“实操程序”作为补充。
